Why is Golf Club Fitting Important?
Golf club fitting is a custom process that adapts clubs to the player’s unique physical characteristics and swing. The goal is to optimize performance by ensuring that the equipment complements the golfer’s style and capabilities. Fitting professionals evaluate various aspects, such as player height, arm length, swing speed and hand size, to tailor the sticks specifically for them.
Why is Golf Club Fitting Important?
Enhanced Performance: Properly fitted clubs can greatly improve your accuracy, distance, and overall consistency. By using clubs that match your swing, you can achieve better contact with the ball and more predictable results.
Injury Prevention: Using clubs that are too long, too short, or not suited to your physical attributes can lead to strain and injury over time. Fitted clubs help reduce the risk of injury by promoting a natural and comfortable swing.
Increased Confidence: Knowing that your clubs are tailored to your specific needs can boost your confidence on the course. This mental edge can positively impact your performance and enjoyment of the game.
Practical Tips for Golf Club Fitting
- Find a Qualified Fitter: Look for a professional fitter with a good reputation. Many golf shops and courses offer fitting services, and it’s important to choose someone with the experience and technology to perform an accurate fitting.
- Understand Your Swing: Before your fitting session, have a good understanding of your swing speed and style. This information helps the fitter make more precise recommendations.
- Be Honest About Your Game: Provide honest feedback about your game and areas where you struggle. The fitter can use this information to make adjustments that address your specific challenges.
- Test Different Clubs: During the fitting, you’ll likely try various club heads, shafts, and grips. Take your time and hit several shots with each combination to see what feels and performs best.
- Consider All Clubs in Your Bag: A comprehensive fitting includes not just your driver but all the clubs in your bag. Each club should be tailored to ensure consistency and performance across your entire set.
- Follow Up: After your fitting and once you’ve had time to play with your new clubs, schedule a follow-up session. This allows for any necessary adjustments to be made after you’ve had a chance to see how the clubs perform in real conditions.
Investing in golf club fitting is a smart move for any golfer looking to enhance their game. Take the time to get fitted by a professional and experience the difference it can make in your golfing journey.

Majorca offers a myriad of wonderful beaches for a day of relaxation. Here are some of the most popular ones. Take notes if you don’t want to miss any of these small oases while touring the island:
Caló des Moró
Explore one of Majorca’s most popular coves and enjoy a unique landscape. Caló des Moró is a natural pool between small rocky cliffs. The contrast of the blue waters with the white sand creates a unique scene that captivates anyone lucky enough to visit it.
Sa Calobra
Be amazed by the impressive cliffs ,over 200 meters high, that surround this beautiful beach in the Sierra de Tramontana. Covered with small pebbles (better to visit it with shoes), Sa Calobra is a unique place that will leave you speechless. Once again, the turquoise waters stretch into a nearly dreamlike landscape. Enjoy an unforgettable experience as you explore the tunnels in the rock, relax in one of the local beach bars, and wait for the sunset to witness the magic of the sun setting over its waters. A beautiful memory that will stay with you for a long time.
Playa de Es Trenc
Playa de Es Trenc, with its 2 km length situated in a protected area, undoubtedly deserves a spot on the list of the best beaches in Majorca. One of its distinctive features is the machine gun nests built during World War II. These elements contrast with the tranquility and relaxation that envelop this landscape, which could easily belong to the Caribbean.
Cala Llombards
Cala Llombards is a family-friendly cove located in Santanyí, the perfect place to discover the authentic essence of Majorca. Between cliffs and fishermen’s houses, it’s a must-visit if you want to enjoy the tranquility expected from a day at the beach on the island.

Typical dishes such as sobrassada, tumbet, and ensaimada capture the essence of Majorcan cuisine, combining local products like olive oil, almonds, and aromatic herbs with cooking techniques that enhance their natural flavours. Majorcan gastronomy not only satisfies the palate but also tells a story of profound respect for the land and sea surrounding this beautiful Balearic island.
Must-Try Dishes: Ensaimada, Tumbet, Sobrasada…
If you don’t know what to eat in the Balearic Islands, here you will find some of the most typical dishes that you must not miss. Typical Drinks of Mallorca: Hierbas Mallorquinas
The typical drink of Mallorca, known as hierbas mallorquinas, is a traditional liqueur made from a careful blend of aromatic herbs native to the island. This liqueur, which can be sweet or dry, is obtained by macerating plants such as mint, rosemary, fennel, and peppermint in alcohol, creating a drink with an unmistakable flavor and aroma. Hierbas mallorquinas are not only popular among locals but have also gained international recognition for their quality and authenticity. This well-known digestive drink can be enjoyed anywhere on the island.
For Dessert… The Most Popular Sweets of Majorca
Beyond the internationally known ensaimada, Majorca has a wide variety of sweet options that will delight those with a sweet tooth. How to play golf on windy days: tips and benefits
Golf is an outdoor sport and therefore exposed to the weather. Sometimes the weather can be our ally, but at other times it can be our enemy. One of the most influential factors in the game is the wind, which can alter both the trajectory of the ball and our concentration.
However, playing golf on a windy day doesn’t have to be a nightmare. With a few adjustments to our technique and strategy, we can use the wind to our advantage and enjoy a good game. Playing in the wind also has its benefits, helping us to improve our swing, our creativity, and our confidence. In this article, we will give you some tips for playing golf on windy days, so take note.
Tips for playing golf on windy days
Adapt your choice of club
The wind can make the ball fly more or less, depending on whether you are upwind or downwind. It is therefore critical to pick the right club for each situation. As a general rule, use one club less than usual when the wind is blowing downwind and one club more than usual when the wind is blowing against you. This will give you more control over the height and distance of the ball.
Reduce ball spin
The wind can also alter the spin of the ball, causing it to veer more than expected. To avoid this, try to hit the ball with the centre of the clubface without using too much force. A good trick is to add another club and take a soft and controlled swing, known as a punch shot. This will reduce the spin of the ball and keep it lower and more stable.
Use the wind to your advantage
The wind is not always an obstacle, it can be an advantage if you know how to use it. For example, if the wind is blowing from left to right, you can play the ball to the left and let the wind carry it towards the target. The same applies if the wind is blowing from right to left. Of course, you have to be aware of the possible obstacles and hazards on the course and always play it safe.
Modify your posture and grip
Wind can also influence your balance and feel in the club. Adjust your stance and grip to the wind conditions. When the wind is blowing against you, your stance should slow down the ball a little, put more weight on your front leg and grip the club a little tighter. If the wind is blowing downwind, you should bring the ball forward a little, distribute your weight evenly and relax your grip a little.
Don’t forget the putt
The wind can also affect the putt, especially if it is strong and gusty. In this case, you must consider the direction and strength of the wind and adjust the power and line of your putt. When putting upwind, you should hit the ball with less force and aim closer to the hole. When putting downwind, you should hit the ball harder and aim further away from the hole. In both cases, it is better to use gentle strokes than aggressive strokes.
Benefits of playing golf on windy days
Playing golf on a windy day can be a challenge, but also an opportunity to improve your game and have fun. Here are some of the benefits of playing in windy conditions:
- Improve your swing: The wind forces you to be more precise and better control the impact and flight of the ball. By practising different types of strokes, such as punch, draw or fade, you will improve your technique and consistency.
- Stimulate your creativity: The wind makes you think more and look for solutions to every situation. By varying your club choice, stance, grip and strategy, you will develop your creativity and ability to adapt.
- Build your confidence: The wind will test you and push you out of your comfort zone. By overcoming the obstacles and challenges the wind presents, you will increase your confidence and self-esteem.
Come and test yourself at Vall d’Or Golf
If you want to put these tips into practice and enjoy the benefits of playing golf on windy days, we invite you to visit the golf course of Vall d’Or Golf, located on the east coast of Mallorca, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful cove of Portocolom.
